Child Development Specialist

 

  Create curriculum based on my screenings of children, anecdotal observations and parent input, using the CARE curriculum. I also incorporate nutrition, preventative health, personal hygiene, and safety into daily activity and routines in the classroom.

  Support parents as the primary educators of their children through regular, planned contact with parents, integration of the Home/School Connection and the encouragement, integration and reinforcement of parent volunteers.

  Plan I.A.P. collaboratively with parents, and, when appropriate, other team members; implements I.E.P. and I.A.P. activities in the classroom; regularly apprises parents about their child s progress and ways to support their child s development in their home.

  Work in partnership with health, mental health, disability and family development staff to integrate the divisions services into the classroom program and facilitate a smooth transition for the child and family into the next program placement.
